Once a week I get a 5 hour break from being a mom. That day is Thursday. I have an awesome husband who moves his schedule around to make sure that he can take care of Cooper (our 19 month old son) so I can get out of the house. I look forward to this time ALL week. Most of the time I don't even have a plan, I just go. Usually I end up at Starbucks (hence the picture above) with a hot drink, listening to music and reading some of my favorite blogs. Sometimes I enjoy a drive to the city and explore a neighborhood I've never been to before. Sometimes I have lunch or coffee with a friend. I need to relax and recharge from the craziness of being a mom. I am so thankful for this time of my week and I hope and wish for it for all of my other mom friends. Being a mom is one of the best things in the world but it's also so very easy for us to let 'mom stuff' consume our lives. A "Mom-Sabbath" is necessary to maintain our sanity, invest in relationships outside of our home, and most importantly, connect with our creator.

Do you have a mom-sabbath?
